Today I began learning how to develop a 3D map tool for Unity. So far I haven't produced much of significance, mostly GUI and selection tools.
Right now, I am raycasting from the mouse position and creating a circle around the point based on the radius. The radius can be controlled in the window as well as using CTRL + Scroll wheel. This shouldn't interfere with any of Unity's default hotkeys and cause any confusion for the user.
I hope to update you more in the future.
